Why do some people find it so hard, even impossible, to believe, even during this Season of Lent?
Paul says it is because they are spiritually veiled to the extent that they became blind for the glory of Christ - for the glorious gospel of how the eternal Son of God came to us in human form to save us from our sin and from the ideologies of this world.
Veiled to see God’s love while Jesus suffered and died for us on the cross and veiled to see the power and glory of Christ when he victoriously was raised from the tomb!
If the glory and power of Christ is veiled by the works of evil (“the god of this age”), we are deprived of experiencing the knowledge of God’s glory and of fellowship with the almighty and merciful God!
Pray that God in his mighty power and infinite grace will unveil you and restore your sight of the glorious saving grace and life changing authority in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Become a servant of God to proclaim the redeeming light to make clear to a world blinded by evil in order to save some, who will then share in the eternal glory of the Creator of Light in their own circle.
Experiencing the great revelation of the pain, victory and eternal glory of Christ and of the light of God, is a gracious gift! Beseech the Lord to grant you the light that never fails and nobody has the authority to switch off in your life!
God’s firm promise to those in whose hearts his light shines is that they will never experience “spiritual load-shedding”!
No, God’s glory is always available to us - in every situation.
2 Corinthians 4: 3 – 6 says: Even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
